Key Highlights from the Weekend
- Crash Detection in Action: While our crash detection feature saw real-world use during the race, every incident provides invaluable data, allowing our system to continuously learn and improve its accuracy.
- A Major Milestone in Timing: During Friday’s Prologue, RouBack successfully powered the time tracking for a dedicated climbing segment for the very first time, directly determining the points for the Mountain Classification.
- Team Time Trial Insights: Saturday’s TTT gave us a clear overview of team performances, paving the way to analyze exact pacing strategies that deliver the fastest times.
- Continuous Improvement: Saturday's road race highlighted some data gaps and grouping/mapping issues. Our team immediately dove into problem-solving mode, rolling out crucial updates to ensure smoother handling moving forward.
Looking Ahead
At our core, RouBack was built to answer a vital question: How can better data collection, analysis and communication make competitive cycling safer? Live rider location, crash/event detection, course analysis/screening and race context remain the beating heart of our mission.
However, the GP Cobblestone pilot proved that reliable, real-time safety data unlocks even greater potential—supporting race officials, timing specific segments, and creating a clearer picture for organizers, teams, and spectators alike.
